Twenty-first Yesterday was Daddy & Mummy's 21st wedding anniversary so we went out for good food. Dinner was at Amici, Authentic Italian Restaurant over at Holland V. The sales person came over to office on Wed to promote their so-called 'VIP card' which entitled us to get 1-For-1 Main Course. And i stupidly parted with my $29.90 for that card :X Reservation highly recommended because you wouldn't be able to get seats even if you go there early. We saw more than 2 groups of people being rejected coz the restaurant was full on reservations. And even with reservations, we were sitted right at the back of the restaurant. No that the restaurant is very, infact, its very small for a restaurant.  As you can seeee, it was super dark at where we were sitted, near the back door. The front was brightly lighted though. Open kitchen concept but you'd be surprised that there isn't the strong smell that you'd get from food courts.The service was rather good i have to say. Ice water was topped up quickly, bill came quickly, food came quickly. And they allowed us to redeem the free wine takeaway (supposed to be consumed in the restaurant only). Food time! :D  Char-grilled Mixed Platter $34.90 (Bro's)Came with a salad, mashed potata, 2 huge prawns, salmon and chicken. The chicken was slightly over-grilled and had abit of the chao-ta taste. Bro said the prawns were good with the sauce, but the salmon was horrible - overcooked and had the strong fish taste.  Merluzzo Al Forno Con Burro alle Erbe $31.90 (Dad's)Basically its oven-baked black cod fillet crusted with butter herbs. Haha. Daddy said its was good, but i felt that the portion was quite small for the price.  Spaghetti Aglio Olio E pepechino Con Granchi $24.90 (Mum's)Crab meat pasta tossed with garlic, olive oil and spur chilli. I recommended this to mummy coz I read reviews saying this was rather good. Mummy felt that it was a tad too dry and there wasn't alot of crab meat. I find it ok though, haha, though i don't really like Aglio Olio styled pastas. Bro and Dad loved it. Would say it's worth a try if you like Aglio Olio? (:  Spaghetti Nero Di Calamari E Merluzzo $20.90 (Mine)Pasta with squid ink and fried cod. Disclaimer: Never eat this if you're planning to go out after dinner unless you want to spend 10 mins in the toilet trying to rid your teeth off the ink. But I liked my pasta alottttt, over mum's one. It tastes better than the Pasta de Waraku one. Sweeter, more squid and the cod was crispy. and the pasta was just the way i liked it! The sauce was abit too much and somehow i managed to spash it on the tablecloth haha. Our bill turned out to be more expensive than we expected, coz they used the 2 $30+ dish to tabulate the bill. I always thought they'd charge the $34.90 (free $31.90) and $24.90 (free $20.90) dishes, at least that's what Swenson's does, but nah, so dinner was still quite ex and I'd rather go elsewhere got better food with that bill. I guess the next time I go, which I will coz I want to utilise the card, I'll just stick to the pasta and maybe the pizza. If you want to borrow my card do tell me ok!! Can lend you!! :D ********************************************** I haven't been updating much coz my life's really boring and I only use the comp on weekends. Went out the most number of times after work last week. Monday with dear for dinner at Ikea, Wednesday with the class for PTN at Suntec Swenson's, Thrusday with 22 to celebrate Candy & Lyn's birthday at Marina Square's Pizza Hut. Oh and I went to JB with my family last Saturday for shopping but only daddy ended up with a pair of shoes. We spent mostly on food and groceries. Heh. And my new favourite snack!!  MR POTATO RICE CRISPS!! :D It looks like potato chips but it's healthier (20% less fat) and doesn't leave that aftertaste that potato chips leaves me with!! :D2 more weeks of work left I cannot wait! Cannot wait for that 1 week break I'm giving myself before school starts. And I realised that since I started working, I've become closer to mummy, idk why. Maybe its coz i always complain to her about work and we talk more frequently. haha. And since bro's having this holidays, I've been going over to NN's hse for dinner regularly and growing fatfat (as said by jx). But i'm happy coz i love NN's food! :D shall lose the weight when school starts!! :P I've been quite a happy girl these days and I'm happy that I'm happy so I'm happy.
